Pentru ca este Valentine`s day am reusit si eu sa obtin carte pentru un concurs. Mai jos aveti un interviu cu minunata KATE LORD BROWN

What has inspire you to become a writer?

I always wrote, even as a small child - diaries, plays. I had my first short story published when I was at school. I think that the most important moment was hearing the poet Wendy Cope read at a school event - I realised then that writing could change lives, could be a career and not just a hobby.

Is any of YOUR FAMILY WRITER?

No - we have all sorts of people in our family - artists, musicians, architects, builders - and going back a bit, boxers and prime ministers! But I'm the first writer :)

When you was young, have you ever thought that you will become a writer/

It was always a dream, and something I worked at while holding down full time jobs. I've done all sorts of things - at university I worked as a secretary, at Harrods, for a children's charity. Then I ran an arts festival, and worked in a gallery in London. But any spare moment I was reading, and reading, and writing ..!

hOW many time are you spending working at your book?

Every day I write something. The books take a lot of research. Beauty Chorus I began in 2007/9 and it was published in 2011. Perfume Garden I began working on in Spain in 2001 - and it was published in 2012.

What are your favourite books/

That's a hard question!! I love so many. My favourites are 'Light Years' by James Salter, 'Bonjour Tristesse' by Francois Sagan.

Have you working at sth right now?

Yes! Something new and very exciting, that follows the path of a priceless piece of jewellery through the 20th century. Watch this space!

hOW is a normal day of you life?

It's busy! I have a young family and we are up each day at 5.30am for school. I work while they are at school, and in the evenings after the children are asleep. Life is full :)

What are your hobbies?

I love art and design, and I paint when I can. During the winter we make the most of being outdoors while it's cooler (I live in the Middle East), so we go to the coast, swim, play tennis. I read widely - fiction and non-fiction, and really enjoy cinema.

1.Ce te-a inspirat sa devii scriitoare?

 

In clasa a 2-a, profesoara ne-a pus sa scriem un paragraf despre o carte si eu l-am transformat in 4 pagini=)). Profesoara s-a gandit ca este o mare realizare, dar nu intelegeam de ce. Nu a fost deloc greu oentru mine sa scriu 4 pagini. Acela a fost momentul in care am realizat ca scrisul pentru mine este ceva ce iubesc si nu mi se pare deloc greu. Nu multe lucruri sunt usoare pentru mine, deci m-am gandit ca scrisul e cel mai potrivit.

2.  Este cineva din familia ta scriitor?

Da! Tatal meu este un  scenarist, deci cred ca scrisul l-am mostenit de la el.

         

             3.  Care sunt cartile tale favorite?

Ahhh! Am asa de multe. Aici sunt cateva(nu neaparat in aceasta ordine );

5.  Care sunt hobby-urile tale?

 

 Cand nu scriu ( ceea ce fac in cea mai mare parte a timpului!) ador sa citesc, sa calatoresc, sa joc poker, jocuri pe iPad si sa ma uit la TV

     6.  Cum e o zi normala din viata ta?

 

Ma trezesc. Verific email-urile. Ma agit din cauza lipsei acestora Fac cafea. Verific email-urile. Ma agit din cauza lipsei acestora=))). Intru pe Twitter. Pe Facebook. Verific la Spam ca nu cumva un email important sa se fi ratacit. Ma agit din cauza lipsei acestora. Deschid documentul in care e carte. Ma holbez la titlul pagini. Ma holbez la cuvinte. Deschid fisierul word. Ma ingrijorez de numarul mare de cuvinte pe care trebuie sa le scriu inainte sa intru in faza de blocare. Verific mailul. Ma fortez singura sa inchid casuta de emailuri. Verific emailurile pe telefon. Ma fortez sa ascund telefonul. Scriu. Iau o pauza de verificat emailuri. Mai scriu putin. Iau o pauza sa verific Twitterul si daca tot m-am oprit verific si emailurile. Termin de scris. Verific emailurile. Ma uit la TV. Dorm. Again.

                 7.Ce te-a inspirat sa scrii :  ''52 reasons to hate my father''?

   De fapt e o poveste amuzanta: Stateam in masina si ma uitam la o fata cu un aparat de taxare din parcare si m-am gandit nu ar fi amuzant sa fiu acea fata? Dar doar pentru o saptamana. Doar sa vad cum e. Apoi am inceput sa ma gandesc la toate Joburile pe care as vrea sa le fac timp de o saptamana si m-am decis : ,,Ei bine, sunt prea ocupata scriind ca sa pot face toate aceste joburi, deci va trebui sa ma multumesc scriind despre cineva care chiar o face. Am inceput sa ma gandesc la cel mai amuzant personaj si sa il pun in acea situatie si raspunsul a fost: o mostenitoare rasfatata care nu a trebuit sa munceasca nici o zi in viata ei. Asa s-a nascut Lexington Larrabee.

8. Care sunt planurile tale de viitor?

 

Sunt foarte incantata de noua mea carte. Este prima dintr-o trilogie de suspans si SF numita UNREMEMBERED. Este despre o fata de 16 ani care se trezeste printr ruinele unui avion dintr-un accident devastator. Este singura supravietuitoare, dar nu isi mai aminteste nimic. Nici cine este. Singurul ei indiciu este un baiat misterios care sustine ca erau indragostiti si ca o ajuta sa scape dintr-un experiment stintific top secret. Este ceva in genul Bourne Identity pentru adolescenti. Va aparea in US in martie si tocmai am terminat de scris a doua carte, Unforgotten, care va aparea in 2014. Sper ca va fi publicata si in Romania in curand!!!!

          9.  Daca nu ai fi scriitoare, ce altceva ai fi?

 Un dealer de blackjack

10.  Ce le transmiti faniilor din Romania( aici am pastrat textul original pentru ca autoarea s-a chinuit sa ne salute in romana si s-ar fi pierdut din farmec daca traduceam).
